How much does move-out cleaning cost? Guide prices and what is behind them
When you move out, the final cleaning is one of the largest single costs. Here we explain honestly what move-out cleaning costs in the Zug region, what is included in the price and where you can save without taking a risk at the handover.
Guide prices by flat size
Our move-out cleaning has a standard price including the handover guarantee, with a range depending on size and condition:
- Studio or 1 room: CHF 345 to 405
- 2.5 rooms: CHF 700 to 1150
- 4.5 rooms: CHF 1350 to 1950

Why a range? These factors determine the price
- Condition of the flat: a well-kept flat needs fewer hours than a heavily used one.
- Kitchen and bathrooms: oven, extractor hood and limescale are the most time-consuming items.
- Windows: their number and accessibility make a noticeable difference.
- Extras: cellar, balcony or terrace are added depending on the property.
What is included in the price
Move-out cleaning is a complete service for the handover: kitchen including oven and extractor hood, bathroom and toilet including descaling, floors, cupboards inside and out, doors as well as windows including frames and sills. We bring all cleaning products and professional equipment ourselves.
The handover guarantee, honestly explained
The handover guarantee is included in the standard price: on request, we attend the handover and carry out touch-ups free of charge until the flat is accepted. If the property management finds fault with something, that is our problem, not yours. If you do without it, you pay 5 percent less, but you carry the handover risk yourself. Our honest recommendation: for a rented flat with a property management, the guarantee is almost always worth it.
Clean it yourself or hire a company?
Cleaning yourself saves money, but it quickly takes several full days, and the handover remains your risk. A flat handover is inspected more strictly than everyday impressions suggest: at the handover, particular attention is paid to limescale, the oven and window frames.
